For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

And we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom, but with those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. ¹ 

The unbeliever ¹  does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod of discipline ¹  or with love and a spirit of gentleness?

For even though I am absent physically, ¹  I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present. ² 

When you gather together in the name of our Lord Jesus, ¹  and I am with you in spirit, ²  along with the power of our Lord Jesus,

turn this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved ¹  in the day of the Lord. ² 

But in my opinion, she will be happier if she remains as she is – and I think that I too have the Spirit of God!

For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit. ¹ 

It is the same with you. Since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, ¹  seek to abound in order to strengthen the church.

So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living person”; ¹  the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose ¹  is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. ² 

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship ¹  of the Holy Spirit be with you all. ² 

Does God then give ¹  you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law ²  or by your believing what you heard? ³ 

in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, ¹  so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.

But just as at that time the one born by natural descent ¹  persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, ²  so it is now.

Now this secret ¹  was not disclosed to people ²  in former ³  generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by ⁴  the Spirit,

I pray that ¹  according to the wealth of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,

With every prayer and petition, pray ¹  at all times in the Spirit, and to this end ²  be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
