So they prepared a dinner for Jesus ¹  there. Martha ²  was serving, and Lazarus was among those present at the table ³  with him.

When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed ¹  in spirit, and testified, ²  “I tell you the solemn truth, ³  one of you will betray me.” ⁴ 

One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, ¹  was at the table ²  to the right of Jesus in a place of honor. ³ 

When Jesus ¹  had said this, one of the high priest’s officers who stood nearby struck him on the face and said, ²  “Is that the way you answer the high priest?”

But it is your custom that I release one prisoner ¹  for you at the Passover. ²  So do you want me to release for you the king of the Jews?”

and the face cloth, ¹  which had been around Jesus’ head, not lying with the strips of linen cloth but rolled up in a place by itself. ² 

beginning from his baptism by John until the day he ¹  was taken up from us – one of these must become a witness of his resurrection together with us.”

When this sound ¹  occurred, a crowd gathered and was in confusion, ²  because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

From one man ¹  he made every nation of the human race ²  to inhabit the entire earth, ³  determining their set times ⁴  and the fixed limits of the places where they would live, ⁵ 

so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around ¹  for him and find him, ²  though he is ³  not far from each one of us.

But when they recognized ¹  that he was a Jew, they all shouted in unison, ²  “Great is Artemis ³  of the Ephesians!” for about two hours. ⁴ 

We continued the voyage from Tyre ¹  and arrived at Ptolemais, ²  and when we had greeted the brothers, we stayed with them for one day.

When Paul ¹  had greeted them, he began to explain ²  in detail ³  what God ⁴  had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

Paul called ¹  one of the centurions ²  and said, “Take this young man to the commanding officer, ³  for he has something to report to him.”

other than ¹  this one thing ²  I shouted out while I stood before ³  them: ‘I am on trial before you today concerning the resurrection of the dead.’” ⁴ 

The one who plants and the one who waters work as one, ¹  but each will receive his reward according to his work.

With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that “an idol in this world is nothing,” and that “there is no God but one.” ¹ 

Do you not know that all the runners in a stadium compete, but only one receives the prize? So run to win.

But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered disgraces her head, for it is one and the same thing as having a shaved head.

If one member suffers, everyone suffers with it. If a ¹  member is honored, all rejoice with it.
