Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is led into sin, ¹  and I do not burn with indignation?

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling.

To the weak I became weak in order to gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I may save some.

If I must boast, ¹  I will boast about the things that show my weakness. ² 

and see ¹  what the land is like, ²  and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, few or many,

It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;

For indeed he was crucified by reason of weakness, but he lives because of God’s power. For we also are weak in him, but we will live together with him, because of God’s power toward you.

Therefore I am content with ¹  weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties ²  for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead. ¹ 

On the one hand a former command is set aside ¹  because it is weak and useless, ² 

Strengthen the hands that have gone limp, steady the knees that shake! ¹ 

I am so starved my knees shake; ¹  I have turned into skin and bones. ² 

But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves. ¹ 

But be careful that this liberty of yours does not become a hindrance to the weak.

He will take pity ¹  on the poor and needy; the lives of the needy he will save.

Defend the cause of the poor and the fatherless! ¹  Vindicate the oppressed and suffering!

Look, ¹  you have instructed ²  many; you have strengthened ³  feeble hands. ⁴ 

On behalf of such an individual I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except about my weaknesses.

But ¹  he said to me, “My grace is enough ²  for you, for my ³  power is made perfect ⁴  in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly ⁵  about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in ⁶  me.

Samson said to her, “If they tie me up with seven fresh ¹  bowstrings ²  that have not been dried, I will become weak and be just like any other man.”
