For their vine is from the stock ¹  of Sodom, and from the fields of Gomorrah. ²  Their grapes contain venom, their clusters of grapes are bitter.

“I am the true vine ¹  and my Father is the gardener. ² 

He destroyed their vines and fig trees, and broke the trees throughout their territory.

Mourn over the field, ¹  over the delightful fields and the fruitful vine!

I planted you in the land like a special vine of the very best stock. Why in the world have you turned into something like a wild vine that produces rotten, foul-smelling grapes? ¹ 

“So the trees said to the grapevine, ‘You come and be our king!’ ¹ 

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-fig trees with driving rain.

Binding his foal to the vine, and his colt to the choicest vine, he will wash ¹  his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.

You uprooted a vine ¹  from Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it.

It sprouted and became a vine, spreading low to the ground; ¹  its branches turning toward him, ²  its roots were under itself. ³  So it became a vine; it produced shoots and sent out branches.

a land of wheat, barley, vines, fig trees, and pomegranates, of olive trees and honey,

“Son of man, of all the woody branches among the trees of the forest, what happens to the wood of the vine? ¹ 

The new wine dries up, the vines shrivel up, all those who like to celebrate ¹  groan.

For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit ¹  of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” ² 

You must not gather in the aftergrowth of your harvest and you must not pick the grapes of your unpruned ¹  vines; the land must have a year of complete rest.

In a good field, by abundant waters, it was planted to grow branches, bear fruit, and become a beautiful vine.

So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph: ¹  “In my dream, there was a vine in front of me.

That fiftieth year will be your jubilee; you must not sow the land, harvest its aftergrowth, or pick the grapes of its unpruned vines. ¹ 

O God, invincible warrior, ¹  come back! Look down from heaven and take notice! Take care of this vine,

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine ¹  in the inner rooms of your house; your children ²  will be like olive branches, as they sit all around your table.
