From one of them came a small horn. ¹  But it grew to be very big, toward the south and the east and toward the beautiful land. ² 

another band turned toward the road leading to Beth Horon; and yet another band turned toward the road leading to the border that overlooks the valley of Zeboim in the direction of the desert.

Abram continually journeyed by stages ¹  down to the Negev. ² 

From there it crossed eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin and extended to Rimmon, turning toward Neah.

Meanwhile Jacob left Beer Sheba and set out for Haran.

“Son of man, turn toward ¹  Sidon ²  and prophesy against it.

When the men got up to leave, ¹  they looked out over ²  Sodom. (Now ³  Abraham was walking with them to see them on their way.) ⁴ 

The two and a half tribes have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, east of Jericho, ¹  toward the sunrise.”

“Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, ¹  and spreads its wings toward the south?

For you will extend your great loyal love to me, ¹  and will deliver my life ²  from the depths of Sheol. ³
