The side chambers surrounding the temple were wider at each successive story; ¹  for the structure ²  surrounding the temple went up story by story all around the temple. For this reason the width of the temple increased as it went up, and one went up from the lowest story to the highest by the way of the middle story.

“So listen to the parable of the sower:

“Now the parable means ¹  this: The seed is the word of God.

The entrance to the bottom ¹  level of side rooms was on the south side of the temple; stairs went up ²  to the middle floor and then on up to the third ³  floor.

Jesus spoke ¹  to them again in parables, saying:

Opposite the 35 feet ¹  that belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court, gallery faced gallery in the three stories.

So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story is told among the Jews to this day. ¹ 

So ¹  Jesus ²  told them ³  this parable: ⁴ 

This is what she said to him: ¹  “That Hebrew slave ²  you brought to us tried to humiliate me, ³ 

For they were in three stories and had no pillars like the pillars of the courts; therefore the upper chambers ¹  were set back from the ground more than the lower and upper ones.

The servant told Isaac everything that had happened.

The side chambers were in three stories, one above the other, thirty in each story. There were offsets in the wall all around to serve as supports for the side chambers, so that the supports were not in the wall of the temple.

Now when ¹  Jesus finished these parables, he moved on from there.

Then ¹  his disciples asked him what this parable meant. ² 

The rest of the events of Abijah’s reign, including his deeds and sayings, ¹  are recorded in the writings of the prophet Iddo.

He ¹  told them many things in parables, ²  saying: “Listen! ³  A sower went out to sow. ⁴ 

Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.

When ¹  the chief priests and the Pharisees ²  heard his parables, they realized that he was speaking about them.

He taught them many things in parables, ¹  and in his teaching said to them:

He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then ¹  how will you understand any parable?
