“If this is not so, who can prove me a liar and reduce my words to nothing?” ¹ 

nor can they prove ¹  to you the things ²  they are accusing me of doing. ³ 

How painful ¹  are honest words! But ²  what does your reproof ³  prove? ⁴ 

When he arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, ¹  bringing many serious ²  charges that they were not able to prove. ³ 

Therefore produce fruit ¹  that proves your ²  repentance,

But Saul became more and more capable, ¹  and was causing consternation ²  among the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving ³  that Jesus ⁴  is the Christ. ⁵ 

Examine me, O Lord, and test me! Evaluate my inner thoughts and motives! ¹ 

I am not saying this as a command, but I am testing the genuineness of your love by comparison with the eagerness of others. ¹ 

And these also must be tested first and then let them serve as deacons if they are found blameless.

Every word of God is purified; ¹  he is like ²  a shield for those who take refuge in him. ³ 

and I died. So ¹  I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life brought death! ² 

But if I build up again those things I once destroyed, ¹  I demonstrate that I am one who breaks God’s law. ² 

Although I am innocent, ¹  my mouth ²  would condemn me; ³  although I am blameless, it would declare me perverse. ⁴ 

Remind me of what happened! Let’s debate! You, prove to me that you are right! ¹ 

For if the message spoken through angels ¹  proved to be so firm that every violation ²  or disobedience received its just penalty,

For if I have boasted to him about anything concerning you, I have not been embarrassed by you, ¹  but just as everything we said to you was true, ²  so our boasting to Titus about you ³  has proved true as well.

explaining and demonstrating ¹  that the Christ ²  had to suffer and to rise from the dead, ³  saying, ⁴  “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.” ⁵ 

Do not add to his words, lest he reprove you, and prove you to be a liar. ¹ 

I have examined all this by wisdom; I said, “I am determined ¹  to comprehend this” ²  – but it was beyond my grasp. ³ 

Which of these three do you think became a neighbor ¹  to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”
