But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” ¹  Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by ²  my works.

He ¹  will reward ²  each one according to his works: ³ 

You see that his faith was working together with his works and his faith was perfected by works.

For the one who enters God’s ¹  rest has also rested from his works, just as God did from his own works.

“Pay attention to this, Job! Stand still and consider the wonders God works.

How great are your works, O Lord! Your plans are very intricate! ¹ 

The Lord created ¹  me as the beginning ²  of his works, ³  before his deeds of long ago.

The one who is lazy ¹  becomes poor, ²  but the one who works diligently ³  becomes wealthy. ⁴ 

Commit ¹  your works ²  to the Lord, and your plans will be established. ³ 

The Lord works ¹  everything for its own ends ²  – even the wicked for the day of disaster. ³ 

A laborer’s ¹  appetite ²  works on his behalf, ³  for his hunger ⁴  urges him to work. ⁵ 

A lying tongue ¹  hates those crushed by it, and a flattering mouth works ruin. ² 

eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,

Now the works of the flesh ¹  are obvious: ²  sexual immorality, impurity, depravity,

it is not from ¹  works, so that no one can boast. ² 

Toward this goal ¹  I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully ²  works in me.

Similarly good works are also obvious, and the ones that are not cannot remain hidden.

The farmer who works hard ought to have the first share of the crops.

“There your fathers tested me and tried me, ¹  and they saw my works for forty years.

So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.
