So ¹  Jesus ²  told them ³  this parable: ⁴ 

Philip went and told Andrew, and they both ¹  went and told Jesus.

Remember, ¹  I have told you ahead of time.

Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.

They ¹  told him, “Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.”

Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died,

who also told us of your love in the Spirit.

He ¹  told them many things in parables, ²  saying: “Listen! ³  A sower went out to sow. ⁴ 

because John had repeatedly told ¹  him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” ² 

When ¹  Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples,

Then ¹  the apostles gathered around Jesus and told him everything they had done and taught.

He told them, “This kind can come out only by prayer.” ¹ 

So ¹  he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

They replied as Jesus had told them, and the bystanders ¹  let them go.

She went out and told those who were with him, while they were mourning and weeping.

They went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

When ¹  they saw him, ²  they related what they had been told ³  about this child,

He told them, “Collect no more ¹  than you are required to.” ² 

So ¹  he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

He won’t thank the slave because he did what he was told, ¹  will he? ²
