For ¹  there are three that testify, ² 

“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

He himself was not the light, but he came to testify ¹  about the light.

He did not need anyone to testify about man, ¹  for he knew what was in man. ² 

So the Pharisees ¹  objected, ²  “You testify about yourself; your testimony is not true!” ³ 

I testify about myself ¹  and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

and you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

By saying this you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

He came as a witness ¹  to testify ²  about the light, so that everyone ³  might believe through him.

You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ ¹  but rather, ‘I have been sent before him.’

About him all the prophets testify, ¹  that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins ²  through his name.”

For I can testify that they are zealous for God, ¹  but their zeal is not in line with the truth. ² 

For I testify, they gave according to their means and beyond their means. They did so voluntarily, ¹ 

For I can testify that he has worked hard ¹  for you and for those in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior ¹  of the world.

So you testify that you approve of ¹  the deeds of your ancestors, ²  because they killed the prophets ³  and you build their ⁴  tombs! ⁵ 

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  we speak about what we know and testify about what we have seen, but ²  you people ³  do not accept our testimony. ⁴ 

You study the scriptures thoroughly ¹  because you think in them you possess eternal life, ²  and it is these same scriptures ³  that testify about me,

Jesus replied, ¹  “I told you and you do not believe. The deeds ²  I do in my Father’s name testify about me.

So the crowd who had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead were continuing to testify about it. ¹
