Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ¹ 

He went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,

They ¹  found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb, ² 

The Jewish leaders ¹  picked up rocks again to stone him to death.

They ¹  continued to stone Stephen while he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”

Is ¹  there anyone among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

So ¹  they went with the soldiers ²  of the guard and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone.

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

But ¹  when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

The devil said to him, “If ¹  you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” ² 

and ‘with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” ¹ 

Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing, ¹  each holding twenty or thirty gallons. ² 

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death ¹  such women. ²  What then do you say?”

Jesus, intensely moved ¹  again, came to the tomb. (Now it was a cave, and a stone was placed across it.) ² 

This Jesus ¹  is the stone that was rejected by you, ²  the builders, that has become the cornerstone. ³ 

When both the Gentiles and the Jews (together with their rulers) made ¹  an attempt to mistreat ²  them and stone them, ³ 

The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.” ¹ 

Suddenly there was a severe earthquake, for an angel of the Lord ¹  descending from heaven came and rolled away the stone and sat on it.

Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. ¹  All will be torn down!” ² 

But if we say, ‘From people,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”
