The Lord thundered ¹  in ²  the sky; the sovereign One ³  shouted. ⁴ 

“At that time, ¹  I will willingly respond,” ²  declares the Lord. “I will respond to the sky, and the sky ³  will respond to the ground;

God called the expanse “sky.” ¹  There was evening, and there was morning, a second day.

God placed the lights ¹  in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,

any kind of land animal, any bird that flies in the sky,

The ¹  sky ²  above your heads will be bronze and the earth beneath you iron.

From the sky ¹  the stars ²  fought, from their paths in the heavens ³  they fought against Sisera.

He made the sky sink ¹  as he descended; a thick cloud was under his feet.

The Lord thundered ¹  from the sky; the sovereign One ²  shouted loudly. ³ 

he makes the Bear, ¹  Orion, ²  and the Pleiades, ³  and the constellations of the southern sky; ⁴

O Lord, your loyal love reaches to the sky; ¹  your faithfulness to the clouds. ² 

Rise up ¹  above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! ² 

For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, ¹  and your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

to the one who rides through the sky from ancient times! ¹  Look! He thunders loudly. ² 

He gave a command to the clouds above, and opened the doors in the sky.

Faithfulness grows from the ground, and deliverance looks down from the sky. ¹ 

For all the gods of the nations are worthless, ¹  but the Lord made the sky.

The sky declares his justice, and all the nations see his splendor.
