He spreads out the northern skies ¹  over empty space; ²  he suspends the earth on nothing. ³ 

By his breath ¹  the skies became fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. ² 

The clouds poured down rain; ¹  the skies thundered. ²  Yes, your arrows ³  flashed about.

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

it will remain stable, like the moon, ¹  his throne will endure like the skies.” ²  (Selah)

In earlier times you established the earth; the skies are your handiwork.

Acknowledge God’s power, ¹  his sovereignty over Israel, and the power he reveals in the skies! ² 

For who in the skies can compare to the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings, ¹ 

I will give him an eternal dynasty, ¹  and make his throne as enduring as the skies above. ² 

For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers ¹  over his faithful followers. ² 

He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain,

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, ¹  so is the one who boasts ²  of a gift not given. ³ 

But now, the sun ¹  cannot be looked at ²  – it is bright in the skies – after a wind passed and swept the clouds away. ³ 

Your justice, O God, extends to the skies above; ¹  you have done great things. ²  O God, who can compare to you? ³ 

God comes ¹  from Teman, ²  the sovereign ³  one from Mount Paran. ⁴  Selah. ⁵  His splendor covers the skies, ⁶  his glory ⁷  fills the earth.

The Lord is the one who ¹  by his power made the earth. He is the one who by his wisdom established the world. And by his understanding he spread out the skies.

That day will be a day of God’s anger, ¹  a day of distress and hardship, a day of devastation and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and dark skies,

“The time will come when ¹  the skies are shut up tightly and no rain falls because your people ²  sinned against you. When they direct their prayers toward this place, renew their allegiance to you, ³  and turn away from their sin because you punish ⁴  them,

Do any of the worthless idols ¹  of the nations cause rain to fall? Do the skies themselves send showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God, who does this? ²  So we put our hopes in you ³  because you alone do all this.”
