Or when they hand the scroll to one who can’t read ¹  and say, “Read this,” he says, “I can’t read.” ² 

And after ¹  you have read this letter, have it read ²  to the church of Laodicea. In turn, read the letter from Laodicea ³  as well.

Zephaniah the priest read that letter to the prophet Jeremiah. ¹ 

They read from the book of God’s law, explaining it ¹  and imparting insight. Thus the people ²  gained understanding from what was read.

They said to him, “Please sit down and read it to us.” So Baruch sat down and read it to them. ¹ 

The letter you sent to us has been translated and read in my presence.

Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ¹ 

The inscription ¹  of the charge against him read, “The king of the Jews.”

When they read it aloud, ¹  the people ²  rejoiced at its encouragement. ³ 

You yourselves are our letter, ¹  written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,

But until this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds, ¹ 

To you this entire prophetic revelation ¹  is like words in a sealed scroll. When they hand it to one who can read ²  and say, “Read this,” he responds, “I can’t, because it is sealed.”

Micaiah told them everything he had heard Baruch read from the scroll in the hearing of the people. ¹ 

Then Jeremiah said to Seraiah, “When you arrive in Babylon, make sure ¹  you read aloud all these prophecies. ² 

He ¹  said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

He answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female, ¹ 

Now as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, ¹ 

Above ¹  his head they put the charge against him, ²  which read: ³  “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

Then ¹  he began to tell them, “Today ²  this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.” ³ 

Jesus ¹  answered them, ²  “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –
