Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

The mighty lion ¹  perishes ²  for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness ³  are scattered.

They spend the night naked because they lack clothing; they have no covering against the cold.

They are soaked by mountain rains and huddle ¹  in the rocks because they lack shelter.

A psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Remain loyal to ¹  the Lord, you chosen people of his, ²  for his loyal followers ³  lack nothing!

“Whoever is naive, let him turn in here,” she says ¹  to those ²  who lack understanding. ³ 

“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here,” she says to those who lack understanding. ¹ 

The teaching ¹  of the righteous feeds ²  many, but fools die ³  for lack of wisdom. ⁴

A king’s glory is ¹  the abundance of people, but the lack of subjects ²  is the ruin ³  of a ruler.

The one who gives to the poor will not lack, ¹  but whoever shuts his eyes to them ²  will receive ³  many curses. ⁴
