The Lord knows that peoples’ thoughts are morally bankrupt. ¹ 

For he ¹  knows deceitful ²  men; when he sees evil, will he not ³  consider it? ⁴ 

he wanders about – food for vultures; ¹  he knows that the day of darkness is at hand. ² 

For he knows no satisfaction in his appetite; ¹  he does not let anything he desires ²  escape. ³ 

a hidden path ¹  no bird of prey knows – no falcon’s ²  eye has spotted it.

God understands the way to it, and he alone knows its place.

Therefore, he knows their deeds, he overthrows them ¹  in the night ²  and they are crushed.
