Abraham was the father ¹  of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,

Eliud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,

He ¹  will reign over the house of Jacob ²  forever, and his kingdom will never end.”

So Jacob went down to Egypt and died there, ¹  along with our ancestors, ² 

just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” ¹ 

By faith also Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning the future.

Then God ¹  gave Abraham ²  the covenant ³  of circumcision, and so he became the father of Isaac and circumcised him when he was eight days old, ⁴  and Isaac became the father of ⁵  Jacob, and Jacob of the twelve patriarchs. ⁶ 

and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, by whom ¹  Jesus was born, who is called Christ. ² 

the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, ¹  the son of Nahor,

So when Jacob heard that there was grain ¹  in Egypt, he sent our ancestors ²  there ³  the first time.

He ¹  found favor ²  with ³  God and asked that he could ⁴  find a dwelling place ⁵  for the house ⁶  of Jacob.

I tell you, many will come from the east and west to share the banquet ¹  with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob ²  in the kingdom of heaven,

‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? ¹  He is not the God of the dead but of the living!” ² 

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth ¹  when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, ²  and all the prophets in the kingdom of God ³  but you yourselves thrown out. ⁴ 

Now he came to a Samaritan town ¹  called Sychar, ²  near the plot of land that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. ³ 

Jacob’s well was there, so Jesus, since he was tired from the journey, sat right down beside ¹  the well. It was about noon. ² 

So Joseph sent a message ¹  and invited ²  his father Jacob and all his relatives to come, seventy-five people ³  in all.

‘I am the God of your forefathers, ¹  the God of Abraham, Isaac, ²  and Jacob.’ ³  Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look more closely. ⁴ 

And so ¹  all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion; he will remove ungodliness from Jacob.

By faith Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped as he leaned on his staff. ¹
