“‘Adulterous wife, who prefers strangers instead of her own husband!

Then they said to one another, ¹  “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” ²  (They had brick instead of stone and tar ³  instead of mortar.) ⁴

“Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn males among the Israelites, and the livestock of the Levites instead of their livestock. And the Levites will be mine. I am the Lord.

Instead of shame, you will get a double portion; ¹  instead of humiliation, they will rejoice over the land they receive. ²  Yes, ³  they will possess a double portion in their land and experience lasting joy.

You must go instead to my country and to my relatives ¹  to find ²  a wife for my son Isaac.”

With her dying breath, ¹  she named him Ben-Oni. ²  But his father called him Benjamin instead. ³

The desolate land will be plowed, instead of being desolate in the sight of everyone who passes by.

So the warden removed the delicacies and the wine ¹  from their diet ²  and gave them a diet of vegetables instead.
