Does the one who makes the human ear not hear? Does the one who forms the human eye not see? ¹ 

Surely ¹  I am more brutish ²  than any other human being, ³  and I do not have human understanding; ⁴ 

“Truly, ¹  I know that this is so. But how ²  can a human ³  be just before ⁴  God? ⁵ 

“Do you have eyes of flesh, ¹  or do you see ²  as a human being sees? ³ 

all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

You destroy their offspring ¹  from the earth, their descendants ²  from among the human race. ³ 

He is the one who forms every human heart, ¹  and takes note of all their actions.

How precious ¹  is your loyal love, O God! The human race finds shelter under your wings. ² 

Do not trust in princes, or in human beings, who cannot deliver! ¹ 

The human spirit ¹  is like ²  the lamp ³  of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts. ⁴ 

Whatever has happened is beyond human ¹  understanding; ²  it is far deeper than anyone can fathom. ³ 

For this reason all hands hang limp, ¹  every human heart loses its courage. ² 

(The cherubim appeared to have the form ¹  of human hands under their wings.)

Then the one who appeared to be a human being touched me again ¹  and strengthened me.

Any human being who is permanently dedicated ¹  must not be ransomed; such a person must be put to death.

There you will worship gods made by human hands – wood and stone that can neither see, hear, eat, nor smell.

He smashed the sacred pillars to bits, cut down the Asherah pole, and filled those shrines ¹  with human bones.

But an empty man will become wise, when a wild donkey’s colt is born a human being. ¹ 

in whose hand ¹  is the life ²  of every creature and the breath of all the human race. ³ 

How then can a human being be righteous before God? How can one born of a woman be pure? ¹
