I will destroy both the winter and summer houses. ¹  The houses filled with ivory ²  will be ruined, the great ³  houses will be swept away.” ⁴  The Lord is speaking!

Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and gates. ¹ 

You counted the houses in Jerusalem, ¹  and demolished houses so you could have material to reinforce the wall. ² 

The Lord who commands armies told me this: ¹  “Many houses will certainly become desolate, large, impressive houses will have no one living in them. ² 

When you eat your fill, when you build and occupy good houses,

Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates

We will seize ¹  all kinds ²  of precious wealth; we will fill our houses with plunder. ³ 

I increased my possessions: ¹  I built houses for myself; ²  I planted vineyards for myself.

The ruined town ¹  is shattered; all of the houses are shut up tight. ² 

They will build houses and live in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

‘Build houses and settle down. Plant gardens and eat what they produce.

Their wealth will be stolen and their houses ruined! They will not live in the houses they have built, nor will they drink the wine from the vineyards they have planted.

They captured as plunder ¹  all their wealth, all their little ones, and their wives, including everything in the houses.

The Lord did as Moses asked ¹  – the ²  frogs died out of the houses, the villages, and the fields.

he lived in ruined towns ¹  and in houses where ²  no one lives, where they are ready to crumble into heaps. ³ 

Their houses are safe ¹  and without fear; ²  and no rod of punishment ³  from God is upon them. ⁴ 

Their children will be smashed to pieces before their very eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives raped.

We have not built any houses to live in. We do not own any vineyards, fields, or crops.

“Is it right for you to live in richly paneled houses ¹  while my temple is in ruins? ² 

Yet the Most High ¹  does not live in houses made by human hands, ²  as the prophet says,
