Five ¹  of the virgins ²  were foolish, and five were wise.

The ¹  one who had received the five talents came and brought five more, saying, ‘Sir, ²  you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’

Now ¹  there were five thousand men ²  who ate the bread. ³ 

Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

The one who had received five talents went off right away and put his money to work ¹  and gained five more.

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, “Twelve.”

They ¹  said to him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”

Not counting women and children, there were about five thousand men who ate.

Then ¹  the second one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has made five minas.’

So ¹  the king ²  said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

Five times I received from the Jews forty lashes less one. ¹ 

When those hired about five o’clock came, each received a full day’s pay. ¹ 

After some time ¹  his wife Elizabeth became pregnant, ²  and for five months she kept herself in seclusion. ³  She said, ⁴ 

“A certain creditor ¹  had two debtors; one owed him ²  five hundred silver coins, ³  and the other fifty.

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? ¹  Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

For from now on ¹  there will be five in one household divided, three against two and two against three.

Another ¹  said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, ²  and I am going out ³  to examine them. Please excuse me.’

(for I have five brothers) to warn ¹  them so that they don’t come ²  into this place of torment.’

Now there is ¹  in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate ²  a pool called Bethzatha ³  in Aramaic, ⁴  which has five covered walkways. ⁵ 

They have ¹  tails and stingers like scorpions, and their ability ²  to injure people for five months is in their tails.
