(Now they had been sent from the Pharisees. ¹ ) ² 

(For John had not yet been thrown into prison.) ¹ 

(For someone who has died has been freed from sin.) ¹ 

Those ¹  who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed. ² 

(Now Jesus had been talking about ¹  his death, but they ²  thought he had been talking about real sleep.) ³ 

and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your acts of charity ¹  have been remembered before God. ² 

After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”

“I tell you the truth, ¹  whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.

that is, the mystery that has been kept hidden from ages and generations, but has now been revealed to his saints.

Having been buried with him in baptism, you also have been raised with him through your ¹  faith in the power ²  of God who raised him from the dead.

One of the beast’s ¹  heads appeared to have been killed, ²  but the lethal wound had been healed. ³  And the whole world followed ⁴  the beast in amazement;

Now when Jesus ¹  heard that John had been imprisoned, ²  he went into Galilee.

It ¹  could have been sold at a high price and the money ²  given to the poor!”

For this reason that field has been called the “Field of Blood” to this day.

Now ¹  a woman was there who had been suffering from a hemorrhage ²  for twelve years. ³ 

But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised!”

When ¹  they saw him, ²  they related what they had been told ³  about this child,

So ¹  when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave ²  well.

Then ¹  the slave said, ‘Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’ ² 

They ¹  found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb, ²
