You hide them with you, where they are safe from the attacks ¹  of men; ²  you conceal them in a shelter, where they are safe from slanderous attacks. ³ 

“If Esau attacks one camp,” ¹  he thought, ²  “then the other camp will be able to escape.” ³ 

May they be ¹  like wind-driven chaff, as the Lord’s angel ²  attacks them! ³ 

He ¹  attacks ²  his friends; ³  he breaks his solemn promises to them. ⁴ 

He repeatedly ¹  attacks me, he turns his hand ²  against me all day long. ³

At this very moment he is hiding out in one of the caves or in some other similar place. If it should turn out that he attacks our troops first, ¹  whoever hears about it will say, ‘Absalom’s army has been slaughtered!’
