There is ¹  the roaring of the lion ²  and the growling ³  of the young lion, but the teeth of the young lions are broken. ⁴ 

Where now is the den of the lions, ¹  the feeding place ²  of the young lions, where ³  the lion, lioness, ⁴  and lion cub once prowled ⁵  and no one disturbed them? ⁶ 

He ¹  is like a lion ²  that wants to tear its prey to bits, ³  like a young lion crouching ⁴  in hidden places.

You will subdue ¹  a lion and a snake; ²  you will trample underfoot a young lion and a serpent.

The sluggard ¹  says, “There is a lion in the road! A lion in the streets!” ² 

The Babylonians are all like lions roaring for prey. They are like lion cubs growling for something to eat. ¹ 

The mighty lion ¹  perishes ²  for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness ³  are scattered.

Of Dan he said: Dan is a lion’s cub; he will leap forth from Bashan. ¹ 

“Do you hunt prey for the lioness, and satisfy the appetite ¹  of the lions,

The lions roar for prey, seeking their food from God. ¹ 

The wicked person flees when there is no one pursuing, ¹  but the righteous person is as confident ²  as a lion.

a lion, mightiest ¹  of the beasts, who does not retreat from anything;

In the morning, at the earliest sign of daylight, the king got up and rushed to the lions’ den.

You are a lion’s cub, Judah, from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He crouches and lies down like a lion; like a lioness – who will rouse him?

Some time later, when he went back to marry ¹  her, he turned aside to see the lion’s remains. He saw ²  a swarm of bees in the lion’s carcass, as well as some honey.

and say: “‘What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay among young lions; ¹  she reared her cubs.

On these frames and joints were ornamental lions, bulls, and cherubs. Under the lions and bulls were decorative wreaths. ¹ 

As the prophet from Judah was traveling, a lion attacked him on the road and killed him. ¹  His corpse was lying on the road, and the donkey and the lion just stood there beside it. ² 

He went and found the corpse lying in the road with the donkey and the lion standing beside it; ¹  the lion had neither eaten the corpse nor attacked the donkey.

Rescue me from the mouth of the lion, ¹  and from the horns of the wild oxen! ²  You have answered me! ³
