yet we know ¹  that no one ²  is justified by the works of the law ³  but by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. ⁴  And ⁵  we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by the faithfulness of Christ ⁶  and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one ⁷  will be justified.

All the descendants of Israel will be vindicated by the Lord and will boast in him. ¹ 

If you have any words, ¹  reply to me; speak, for I want to justify you. ² 

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

But the expert, ¹  wanting to justify ²  himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.

For we consider that a person ¹  is declared righteous by faith apart from the works of the law. ² 

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? ¹  It is God who justifies.

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. ¹ 

They pronounce the guilty innocent for a payoff, they ignore the just cause of the innocent. ¹ 

and by this one ¹  everyone who believes is justified ²  from everything from which the law of Moses could not justify ³  you. ⁴ 

Then Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became very angry. ¹  He was angry ²  with Job for justifying ³  himself rather than God. ⁴ 

But they are justified ¹  freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

This was ¹  also to demonstrate ²  his righteousness in the present time, so that he would be just ³  and the justifier of the one who lives because of Jesus’ faithfulness. ⁴ 

Since God is one, ¹  he will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous one will live by faith. ¹ 

And so, ¹  since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.” ² 

Would you indeed annul ¹  my justice? Would you declare me guilty so that you might be right?

The one who acquits the guilty and the one who condemns the innocent ¹  – both of them are an abomination to the Lord. ²
