because the tribe of the Reubenites by their families, ¹  the tribe of the Gadites by their families, and half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.

The two and a half tribes have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, east of Jericho, ¹  toward the sunrise.”

Now Joshua set up in Gilgal the ¹  twelve stones they had taken from the Jordan.

Now the Philistines had captured the ark of God and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

David retrieved everything the Amalekites had taken; he ¹  also rescued his two wives.

But the Levites will not have an allotted portion among you, for their inheritance is to serve the Lord. ¹  Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their allotted land ²  east of the Jordan which Moses the Lord’s servant assigned them.”
