Then someone will ask him, ‘What are these wounds on your chest?’ ¹  and he will answer, ‘Some that I received in the house of my friends.’

He will say, “Where are their gods, the rock in whom they sought security,

So I said, “My endurance has expired; I have lost all hope of deliverance ¹  from the Lord.”

“‘I passed by you and saw you kicking around helplessly in your blood. I said to you as you lay there in your blood, “Live!” I said to you as you lay there in your blood, “Live!” ¹ 

But I said to my master, ‘What if the woman does not want to go ¹  with me?’ ² 

In the dream the angel of God said to me, ‘Jacob!’ ‘Here I am!’ I replied.

Pharaoh will summon you and say, ‘What is your occupation?’

So I responded to you, “Do not be terrified ¹  of them!

‘Cursed ¹  is the one who disrespects ²  his father and mother.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor’s boundary marker.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who misleads a blind person on the road.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who has sexual relations with his mother-in-law.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who kills ¹  his neighbor in private.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me. I answered, ‘Here I am!’

He asked me, ‘Who are you?’ I told him, ‘I’m ¹  an Amalekite.’

“Then I thought, ‘I will die in my own home, ¹  my days as numerous as the grains of sand. ² 

Then I said, “I am sickened by the thought that the sovereign One ¹  might become inactive. ² 

If I were to say, “Certainly the darkness will cover me, ¹  and the light will turn to night all around me,” ² 

Then I said about the one worn out by adultery, ‘Now they will commit immoral acts with her.’

So I said to them: “The word of the Lord came to me:
