Simeon and Levi are brothers, weapons of violence are their knives! ¹ 

although ¹  there is no violence in my hands and my prayer is pure.

You refuse to believe a day of disaster will come, ¹  but you establish a reign of violence. ² 

The earth was ruined ¹  in the sight of ²  God; the earth was filled with violence. ³ 

If a false ¹  witness testifies against another person and accuses him of a crime, ² 

“If ¹  I cry out, ²  ‘Violence!’ ³  I receive no answer; ⁴  I cry for help, but there is no justice.

The Lord approves of ¹  the godly, ²  but he ³  hates ⁴  the wicked and those who love to do violence. ⁵ 

Watch my enemies, for they outnumber me; they hate me and want to harm me. ¹ 

Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

Arrogance is their necklace, ¹  and violence their clothing. ² 

Remember your covenant promises, ¹  for the dark regions of the earth are full of places where violence rules. ² 

Do not envy a violent man, ¹  and do not choose to imitate ²  any of his ways;

But the one who does not find me ¹  brings harm ²  to himself; ³  all who hate me ⁴  love death.”

Blessings ¹  are on the head of the righteous, but the speech ²  of the wicked conceals ³  violence. ⁴ 

The teaching ¹  of the righteous is a fountain of life, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked conceals ⁴  violence. ⁵ 

From the fruit of his speech ¹  a person eats good things, ²  but the faithless ³  desire ⁴  the fruit of violence. ⁵ 

A violent person ¹  entices ²  his neighbor, and leads him down a path that is terrible. ³ 

Like cutting off the feet or drinking violence, ¹  so is sending ²  a message by the hand of a fool. ³ 

¹ “You must not give ²  a false report. ³  Do not make common cause ⁴  with the wicked ⁵  to be a malicious ⁶  witness.

He delivers me ¹  from my enemies; you snatch me away ²  from those who attack me; ³  you rescue me from violent men.
