then he reveals ¹  to them what they have done, ²  and their transgressions, that they were behaving proudly.

Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.

When Saul learned that David had fled to Gath, he did not mount a new search for him.

So the messenger departed. When he arrived, he informed David of all the news that Joab had sent with him.

When one ¹  of the men saw this, he reported it to Joab saying, “I saw Absalom hanging in an oak tree.
