You must offer up a cake of the first of your finely ground flour ¹  as a raised offering; as you offer the raised offering of the threshing floor, so you must offer it up.

He says, ¹  “Stop your striving and recognize ²  that I am God! I will be exalted ³  over ⁴  the nations! I will be exalted over ⁵  the earth!”

So Jacob took a stone and set it up as a memorial pillar.

The Lord impoverishes and makes wealthy; he humbles and he exalts.

He said, “Lift it out.” So he reached out his hand and grabbed it.

Can anyone teach ¹  God knowledge, since ²  he judges those that are on high? ³ 

Then from the wicked the light is withheld, and the arm raised in violence ¹  is broken. ² 

Can you raise your voice to the clouds so that a flood of water covers you? ¹ 

He gave the order for a windstorm, ¹  and it stirred up the waves of the sea. ² 

Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people! Let them praise him in the place where the leaders preside! ¹ 

He raises the poor from the dirt, and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile, ¹ 

You are my ¹  God and I will give you thanks! You are my God and I will praise you!

The wise inherit honor, but he holds fools up ¹  to public contempt. ² 

Esteem her highly ¹  and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her.

Righteousness exalts ¹  a nation, but sin is a disgrace ²  to any people.

There is a generation whose eyes are so lofty, ¹  and whose eyelids are lifted up disdainfully. ² 

I will make all my mountains into a road; I will construct my roadways.”

Does an ax exalt itself over the one who wields it, or a saw magnify itself over the one who cuts with it? ¹  As if a scepter should brandish the one who raises it, or a staff should lift up what is not made of wood!

“‘Then the priest ¹  must take all its fat ²  and offer the fat ³  up in smoke on the altar.

and you eat ¹  some of the food of the land, you must offer up a raised offering ²  to the Lord.
