For our enemies’ ¹  rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede.

The Lord is alive! ¹  My protector ²  is praiseworthy! ³  The God who delivers me ⁴  is exalted as king! ⁵ 

They do not thirst as he leads them through dry regions; he makes water flow out of a rock for them; he splits open a rock and water flows out.’ ¹ 

You have forgotten ¹  the Rock who fathered you, and put out of mind the God who gave you birth.

He will say, “Where are their gods, the rock in whom they sought security,

that with an iron chisel and with lead ¹  they were engraved in a rock forever!

He broke open rocks in the wilderness, and gave them enough water to fill the depths of the sea. ¹ 

Come! Let’s sing for joy to the Lord! Let’s shout out praises to our protector who delivers us! ² 

The Lord said, “Here ¹  is a place by me; you will station yourself ²  on a rock.

But as ¹  a mountain falls away and crumbles, ²  and as a rock will be removed from its place,

and throw ¹  your gold ²  in the dust – your gold ³  of Ophir among the rocks in the ravines –

They are soaked by mountain rains and huddle ¹  in the rocks because they lack shelter.

He has cut out channels ¹  through the rocks; his eyes have spotted ²  every precious thing.

when my steps ¹  were bathed ²  with butter ³  and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil! ⁴

He alone is my protector ¹  and deliverer. He is my refuge; ²  I will not be upended. ³ 

My flesh and my heart may grow weak, ¹  but God always ²  protects my heart and gives me stability. ³ 

They remembered that God was their protector, ¹  and that the sovereign God was their deliverer. ² 

“I would feed Israel the best wheat, ¹  and would satisfy your appetite ²  with honey from the rocky cliffs.” ³ 

He will call out to me, ‘You are my father, ¹  my God, and the protector who delivers me.’ ²
