From Merari came the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites; these were ¹  the families of Merari.

These were the divisions of the gatekeepers who were descendants of Korah and Merari.

Then the tabernacle was dismantled, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set out, carrying the tabernacle.

Merari’s descendants by their clans were allotted twelve cities from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
