They do one act of violence after another, and one deceitful thing after another. ¹  They refuse to pay attention to me,” ²  says the Lord.

You do damage with words, ¹  and use your tongue to deceive. ²

Then make sure you don’t speak evil words ¹  or use deceptive speech! ² 

The words he speaks are sinful and deceitful; he does not care about doing what is wise and right. ¹

Disaster is within it; violence ¹  and deceit do not depart from its public square.

The Lord abhors ¹  dishonest scales, ²  but an accurate weight ³  is his elight.

The faithful witness ¹  tells what is right, ²  but a false witness ³  speaks ⁴  deceit.

Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, ¹  but those who promote peace ²  have joy.

The wisdom of the shrewd person ¹  is to discern ²  his way, but the folly of fools is deception. ³ 

A truthful witness ¹  rescues lives, ²  but the one who breathes lies brings ³  deception. ⁴ 

The Lord abhors ¹  differing weights, and dishonest scales are wicked. ² 

The businessmen love to cheat; ¹  they use dishonest scales. ²
