It was he ¹  who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, ² 

He also caused ¹  everyone (small and great, rich and poor, free and slave ² ) to obtain a mark on their right hand or on their forehead.

He sent his slaves ¹  to summon those who had been invited to the banquet, but they would not come.

On the next day, ¹  their rulers, elders, and experts in the law ²  came together ³  in Jerusalem. ⁴ 

Encourage younger men likewise to be self-controlled, ¹ 

Although it grieved the king, ¹  because of his oath and the dinner guests he commanded it to be given.

Then ¹  Pilate called together the chief priests, the ²  rulers, and the people,

For God has consigned all people to disobedience so that he may show mercy to them all. ¹ 

For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Are you not to judge those inside?

Beware of the dogs, ¹  beware of the evil workers, beware of those who mutilate the flesh! ² 

When the harvest time was near, he sent his slaves ¹  to the tenants to collect his portion of the crop. ² 

And he says ¹  of the angels, “He makes ²  his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire,” ³ 

He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He ¹  gave them to his ²  disciples to serve the people, and he divided the two fish among them all.

They brought the man who used to be blind ¹  to the Pharisees. ² 

Greet all the brothers and sisters ¹  with a holy kiss.

To him belongs ¹  the power forever. Amen.

The ¹  sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death ²  and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.

But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” ¹ 

Although it grieved the king deeply, ¹  he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, ¹  “Seven.”
