He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Whenever ¹  you enter a house, ²  first say, ‘May peace ³  be on this house!’

And when you see the south wind ¹  blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand the law? ¹ 

He ¹  said, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be fair weather, because the sky is red,’

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”

For John the Baptist has come ¹  eating no bread and drinking no wine, ²  and you say, ‘He has a demon!’ ³ 

Heal ¹  the sick in that town ²  and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God ³  has come upon ⁴  you!’

You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and do so correctly, ¹  for that is what I am. ² 

And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, ¹  we would not have participated with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’

But you say that if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever help you would have received from me is corban’ ¹  (that is, a gift for God),

He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, ¹  “You are the Christ.” ² 

So Pilate spoke to them again, ¹  “Then what do you want me to do ²  with the one you call king of the Jews?”

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at him, ¹  a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ ² 

Then ¹  he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter ²  answered, ³  “The Christ ⁴  of God.”

So he said to them, “When you pray, ¹  say: Father, ²  may your name be honored; ³  may your kingdom come. ⁴ 

So ¹  if ²  Satan too is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? I ask you this because ³  you claim that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.

Jesus ¹  also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, ²  you say at once, ‘A rainstorm ³  is coming,’ and it does.

So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, ‘We are slaves undeserving of special praise; ¹  we have only done what was our duty.’” ² 

So ¹  they all said, “Are you the Son of God, ²  then?” He answered ³  them, “You say ⁴  that I am.”
