But he denied it in front of them all: ¹  “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? ¹  No one is good except God alone.

Then ¹  Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for everyone?” ² 

Jesus ¹  said to him, “Why do you call me good? ²  No one is good except God alone.

Then they said to him, “Who are you? Tell us ¹  so that we can give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death ¹  such women. ²  What then do you say?”

His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainly ¹  and not in obscure figures of speech! ² 

Jesus replied, ¹  “Are you saying this on your own initiative, ²  or have others told you about me?”

His disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

But he denied it: ¹  “I don’t even understand what you’re talking about!” ²  Then ³  he went out to the gateway, and a rooster crowed. ⁴ 

So ¹  Pilate asked him, “Are you the king ²  of the Jews?” He replied, ³  “You say so.” ⁴ 

But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment, ¹  while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. ² 

So ¹  Pilate asked Jesus, ²  “Are you the king ³  of the Jews?” He replied, “You say so.” ⁴ 

“We are descendants ¹  of Abraham,” they replied, ²  “and have never been anyone’s slaves! How can you say, ³  ‘You will become free’?”

So again they asked the man who used to be blind, ¹  “What do you say about him, since he caused you to see?” ²  “He is a prophet,” the man replied. ³ 

Then ¹  Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, ²  “Are you the king ³  of the Jews?” Jesus ⁴  said, “You say so.” ⁵ 

Thus ¹  they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly, ²  and show no partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. ³ 

Then ¹  the Judeans ²  responded, ³  “Now we know you’re possessed by a demon! ⁴  Both Abraham and the prophets died, and yet ⁵  you say, ‘If anyone obeys ⁶  my teaching, ⁷  he will never experience ⁸  death.’ ⁹ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “Have I been with you for so long, and you have not known ²  me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Otherwise, if you are praising God with your spirit, how can someone without the gift ¹  say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?
