Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: ¹ 

I say this as a concession, not as a command.

But in those sacrifices ¹  there is a reminder of sins year after year.

But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, as to how they could assassinate ¹  him.

So they went away by themselves in a boat to some remote place.

Many gave false testimony against him, but their testimony did not agree.

Now ¹  Jesus’ ²  parents went to Jerusalem ³  every ⁴  year for the feast of the Passover. ⁵ 

But ¹  a Samaritan ²  who was traveling ³  came to where the injured man ⁴  was, and when he saw him, he felt compassion for him. ⁵ 

Do not judge according to external appearance, ¹  but judge with proper ²  judgment.”

From the descendants ¹  of this man ²  God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised. ³ 

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³ 

Thus I am eager ¹  also to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome. ² 

For I can testify that they are zealous for God, ¹  but their zeal is not in line with the truth. ² 

So in the same way at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, ¹  heirs according to the promise.

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition ¹  or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.

Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters ¹  who are in Laodicea and to Nympha and the church that meets in her ²  house. ³ 

From Paul, ¹  an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to further the promise ²  of life in Christ Jesus,

And so, ¹  since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.” ² 

After being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, ¹  they went back by another route to their own country.
