Remember Lot’s wife! ¹ 

Now with regard to the issues you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” ¹ 

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man.

In any case, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.

Deacons must be husbands of one wife ¹  and good managers of their children and their own households.

The one bound to a wife should not seek divorce. The one released from a wife should not seek marriage. ¹ 

because the husband is the head of the wife as also Christ is the head of the church – he himself being the savior of the body.

The overseer ¹  then must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, ²  temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher,

An elder must be blameless, ¹  the husband of one wife, ²  with faithful children ³  who cannot be charged with dissipation or rebellion.

The ¹  disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”

But when John rebuked Herod ¹  the tetrarch ²  because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, ³  and because of all the evil deeds ⁴  that he had done,

He ¹  kept back for himself part of the proceeds with his wife’s knowledge; he brought ²  only part of it and placed it at the apostles’ feet.

He also came to Derbe ¹  and to Lystra. ²  A disciple ³  named Timothy was there, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, ⁴  but whose father was a Greek. ⁵ 

For just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman. But all things come from God.

But when the appropriate time ¹  had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

Then ¹  the serpent spouted water like a river out of his mouth after the woman in an attempt to ²  sweep her away by a flood,

So the Samaritan woman said to him, “How can you – a Jew ¹  – ask me, a Samaritan woman, for water ²  to drink?” (For Jews use nothing in common ³  with Samaritans.) ⁴ 

Now at that very moment his disciples came back. ¹  They were shocked ²  because he was speaking ³  with a woman. However, no one said, “What do you want?” ⁴  or “Why are you speaking with her?”

Now many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the report of the woman who testified, ¹  “He told me everything I ever did.”

But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, ¹  and God is the head of Christ.
