Now ¹  a woman was there who had been suffering from a hemorrhage ²  for twelve years. ³ 

Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, ¹  that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day.

But ¹  a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage ²  for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge ³  of his cloak. ⁴ 

Now a man was there who had been disabled for thirty-eight years. ¹ 

Then the Judeans ¹  replied, ²  “You are not yet fifty years old! ³  Have ⁴  you seen Abraham?”

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem ¹  to visit Cephas ²  and get information from him, ³  and I stayed with him fifteen days.

“There your fathers tested me and tried me, ¹  and they saw my works for forty years.

And against whom was God ¹  provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness? ² 

Now ¹  when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from his prison

There was also a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old, ¹  having been married to her husband for seven years until his death.

And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

and a woman was there ¹  who had been disabled by a spirit ²  for eighteen years. She ³  was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely. ⁴ 

But God spoke as follows: ‘Your ¹  descendants will be foreigners ²  in a foreign country, whose citizens will enslave them and mistreat them for four hundred years. ³ 

This man led them out, performing wonders and miraculous signs ¹  in the land of Egypt, ²  at ³  the Red Sea, and in the wilderness ⁴  for forty years.

Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled ¹  forty years.

This went on for two years, so that all who lived in the province of Asia, ¹  both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord. ² 

and like a robe you will fold them up and like a garment ¹  they will be changed, but you are the same and your years will never run out.” ² 

He ¹  seized the dragon – the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan – and tied him up for a thousand years.

(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.) ¹  This is the first resurrection.

But in truth I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s days, ¹  when the sky ²  was shut up three and a half years, and ³  there was a great famine over all the land.
