Jesus replied, ¹  “Do you now believe?

For now we see in a mirror indirectly, ¹  but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.

“I have many more things to say to you, ¹  but you cannot bear ²  them now.

when people lie about us, we answer in a friendly manner. We are the world’s dirt and scum, even now.

This brings you great joy, ¹  although you may have to suffer ²  for a short time in various trials.

So he ¹  told ²  them, “My Father is working until now, and I too am working.” ³ 

I am telling you this now, ¹  before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe ²  that I am he. ³ 

If you have known me, you will know my Father too. ¹  And from now on you do know him and have seen him.”

To the present hour we are hungry and thirsty, poorly clothed, brutally treated, and without a roof over our heads.

Then he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters ¹  at one time, most of whom are still alive, ²  though some have fallen asleep. ³ 

As we have said before, and now I say again, if any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell! ¹ 

I wish I could be with you now and change my tone of voice, ¹  because I am perplexed about you.

For the hidden power of lawlessness ¹  is already at work. However, the one who holds him back ²  will do so until he is taken out of the way,

The one who says he is in the light but still hates ¹  his fellow Christian ²  is still in the darkness.

So Jesus replied ¹  to him, “Let it happen now, ²  for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John ³  yielded ⁴  to him.

From ¹  the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and forceful people lay hold of it. ² 

For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’” ¹ 

Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and that he would send me more than twelve legions ¹  of angels right now?

and said to him, “Everyone ¹  serves the good wine first, and then the cheaper ²  wine when the guests ³  are drunk. You have kept the good wine until now!”

They asked the parents, ¹  “Is this your son, whom you say ²  was born blind? Then how does he now see?”
