Command and teach these things.

After instructing the crowd to sit down on the ground,

Reinforce ¹  these commands, ²  so that they will be beyond reproach.

But he forcefully commanded ¹  them not to tell this to anyone, ² 

Her ¹  parents were astonished, but he ordered them to tell no one ²  what had happened.

And they called them in and ordered ¹  them not to speak or teach at all in the name ²  of Jesus.

After they had beaten them severely, ¹  they threw them into prison and commanded ²  the jailer to guard them securely.

Then the commanding officer ¹  sent the young man away, directing him, ²  “Tell no one that you have reported ³  these things to me.”

To the married I give this command – not I, but the Lord ¹  – a wife should not divorce a husband

Now in giving the following instruction I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse.

to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you.

And we are confident about you in the Lord that you are both doing – and will do – what we are commanding.

As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus ¹  to instruct ²  certain people not to spread false teachings, ³ 

Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them as follows: ¹  “Do not go to Gentile regions ²  and do not enter any Samaritan town. ³ 

He instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff ¹  – no bread, no bag, ²  no money in their belts –

While he was with them, ¹  he declared, ²  “Do not leave Jerusalem, ³  but wait there ⁴  for what my ⁵  Father promised, ⁶  which you heard about from me. ⁷ 

and they summoned the apostles and had them beaten. ¹  Then ²  they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.

He ¹  commanded us to preach to the people and to warn ²  them ³  that he is the one ⁴  appointed ⁵  by God as judge ⁶  of the living and the dead.

But some from the religious party of the Pharisees ¹  who had believed stood up and said, “It is necessary ²  to circumcise the Gentiles ³  and to order them to observe ⁴  the law of Moses.”

When I was informed ¹  there would be a plot ²  against this man, I sent him to you at once, also ordering his accusers to state their charges ³  against him before you.
