For those who sleep, sleep at night and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

So listen to this, oppressed one, who is drunk, but not from wine!

When he drank some of the wine, he got drunk and uncovered himself ¹  inside his tent.

And do not get drunk with wine, which ¹  is debauchery, ²  but be filled by the Spirit, ³ 

I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of those who testified to Jesus. ¹  I ²  was greatly astounded ³  when I saw her.

Wake up! Wake up! Get up, O Jerusalem! You drank from the cup the Lord passed to you, which was full of his anger! ¹  You drained dry the goblet full of intoxicating wine. ² 

In spite of what you think, these men are not drunk, ¹  for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. ² 

So he ¹  said to her, “How often do you intend to get drunk? Put away your wine!”

I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword will devour flesh – the blood of the slaughtered and captured, the chief ¹  of the enemy’s leaders!’”

“Moab has vaunted itself against me. So make him drunk with the wine of my wrath ¹  until he splashes ²  around in his own vomit, until others treat him as a laughingstock.

I trampled nations in my anger, I made them drunk ¹  in my rage, I splashed their blood on the ground.” ² 

When their appetites are all stirred up, ¹  I will set out a banquet for them. I will make them drunk so that they will pass out, ²  they will fall asleep forever, they will never wake up,” ³  says the Lord. ⁴ 

You will eat fat until you are full, and drink blood until you are drunk, ¹  at my slaughter ²  which I have made for you.

But if ¹  that ²  slave should say to himself, ³  ‘My master is delayed ⁴  in returning,’ and he begins to beat ⁵  the other ⁶  slaves, both men and women, ⁷  and to eat, drink, and get drunk,

But others jeered at the speakers, ¹  saying, “They are drunk on new wine!” ² 

For when it is time to eat, everyone proceeds with his own supper. One is hungry and another becomes drunk.

“I will make her officials and wise men drunk, along with her governors, leaders, ¹  and warriors. They will fall asleep forever and never wake up,” ²  says the King whose name is the Lord who rules over all. ³ 

Any food that may be eaten which becomes soaked with water ¹  will become unclean. Anything drinkable ²  in any such vessel will become unclean. ³ 

They marched out at noon, while Ben Hadad and the thirty-two kings allied with him were drinking heavily ¹  in their quarters. ² 

You will be shocked and amazed! ¹  You are totally blind! ²  They are drunk, ³  but not because of wine; they stagger, ⁴  but not because of beer.
