since you are encountering ¹  the same conflict that you saw me face and now hear that I am facing. ² 

For even when we came into Macedonia, our body ¹  had no rest at all, but we were troubled in every way – struggles from the outside, fears from within.

Where do the conflicts and where ¹  do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, ²  from your passions that battle inside you? ³ 

Please stop wounding me! ¹  You have almost beaten me to death! ² 

¹ In the third ²  year of King Cyrus of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel (who was also called Belteshazzar). This message was true and concerned a great war. ³  He understood the message and gained insight by the vision.

They ¹  show that the work of the law is written ²  in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or else defend ³  them, ⁴

Jephthah said to them, “My people and I were entangled in controversy with the Ammonites. ¹  I asked for your help, but you did not deliver me from their power. ² 

Why do you force me to witness injustice? ¹  Why do you put up with wrongdoing? ²  Destruction and violence confront ³  me; conflict is present and one must endure strife. ⁴ 

But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

But I wish to speak ¹  to the Almighty, ²  and I desire to argue ³  my case ⁴  with God.

Confuse them, ¹  O Lord! Frustrate their plans! ²  For I see violence and conflict in the city.

who plan ways to harm me. ¹  All day long they stir up conflict. ² 

And the fruit that consists of righteousness ¹  is planted ²  in peace among ³  those who make peace.

Greet one another with a loving kiss. ¹  Peace to all of you who are in Christ. ² 

May grace and peace be lavished on you ¹  as you grow ²  in the rich knowledge ³  of God and of Jesus our Lord! ⁴ 

The sovereign Lord showed me this: I saw ¹  the sovereign Lord summoning a shower of fire. ²  It consumed the great deep and devoured the fields.
