“You shall not commit adultery. ¹ 

You must not commit adultery.

For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” ¹  also said, “Do not murder.” ²  Now if you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a violator of the law.

You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor ¹  idols, do you rob temples?

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries ¹  someone else commits adultery, and the one who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

Commit your future to the Lord! ¹  Trust in him, and he will act on your behalf. ² 

Commit ¹  your works ²  to the Lord, and your plans will be established. ³ 

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ ¹ 

And if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” ¹ 

A man named Barabbas was imprisoned with rebels who had committed murder during an insurrection.

or his sin that he committed ¹  is made known to him, ²  he must bring a flawless female goat ³  as his offering for the sin ⁴  that he committed.

and the priest is to make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before the Lord for his sin that he has committed, ¹  and he will be forgiven ²  of his sin ³  that he has committed.

For they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and their sons, whom they bore to me, ¹  they have passed through the fire as food to their idols. ² 

He ¹  committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth. ² 

If a person commits a sin punishable by death and is executed, and you hang the corpse ¹  on a tree,

A man who commits adultery with a woman lacks wisdom, ¹  whoever does it destroys his own life. ² 

But if you show prejudice, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as violators. ¹ 

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

“Tell the Israelites, ‘When ¹  a man or a woman commits any sin that people commit, ²  thereby breaking faith ³  with the Lord, and that person is found guilty, ⁴ 

This happened because of the sins he committed. He did evil in the sight of ¹  the Lord and followed in Jeroboam’s footsteps and encouraged Israel to continue sinning. ²
