(For his disciples had gone off into the town to buy supplies. ¹ ) ² 

Acquire ¹  truth and do not sell it – wisdom, and discipline, and understanding.

But they exclaimed, ¹  “No, my lord! Your servants have come to buy grain for food!

They said, “My lord, we did indeed come down ¹  the first time ²  to buy food.

“Then our father said, ‘Go back and buy us a little food.’

“Hey, ¹  all who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come! Buy and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk without money and without cost! ² 

So ten of Joseph’s brothers went down to buy grain from Egypt.

If you send ¹  our brother with us, we’ll go down and buy food for you.

including craftsmen, builders, and masons, and should buy wood and chiseled stone for the repair work. ¹ 

She considers ¹  a field and buys it; from her own income ²  she plants a vineyard.

‘Hanamel, the son of your uncle Shallum, will come to you soon. He will say to you, “Buy my field at Anathoth because you are entitled ¹  as my closest relative to buy it.”’ ² 

So the guardian said to Boaz, “You may acquire it,” and he removed his sandal. ¹ 

Then ¹  the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn for her because no one buys their cargo ²  any longer –

Now it happened just as the Lord had said! My cousin Hanamel ¹  came to me in the courtyard of the guardhouse. He said to me, ‘Buy my field which is at Anathoth in the territory of the tribe of Benjamin. Buy it for yourself since you are entitled as my closest relative to take possession of it for yourself.’ When this happened, I recognized that the Lord had indeed spoken to me.

People from every country ¹  came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain because the famine was severe throughout the earth.

He then said, “Look, I hear that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy grain for us ¹  so that we may live ²  and not die.” ³ 

So Israel’s sons came to buy grain among the other travelers, ¹  for the famine was severe in the land of Canaan.

We have brought additional money with us to buy food. We do not know who put the money in our sacks!”

¹ “If you buy ²  a Hebrew servant, ³  he is to serve you for six years, but in the seventh year he will go out free ⁴  without paying anything. ⁵ 

The city is sure to fall into the hands of the Babylonians. ¹  Yet, in spite of this, ²  you, Lord God, ³  have said to me, “Buy that field with silver and have the transaction legally witnessed.”’” ⁴
