The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for boils were on the magicians and on all the Egyptians.

“When someone’s body has a boil on its skin ¹  and it heals,

Then he said to me, “These are the houses for boiling, where the ministers of the temple boil the sacrifices of the people.”

It makes the deep boil like a cauldron and stirs up the sea like a pot of ointment, ¹ 

and in the place of the boil there is a white swelling or a reddish white bright spot, he must show himself to the priest. ¹ 

The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, eczema, and scabies, all of which cannot be healed.

Smoke streams from its nostrils as from a boiling pot over burning ¹  rushes.

Any clay vessel it is boiled in must be broken, and if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then that vessel ¹  must be rubbed out and rinsed in water.

Take the choice bone of the flock, heap up bones under it; boil rapidly, and boil its bones in it.

(64:1) As when fire ignites dry wood, or fire makes water boil, let your adversaries know who you are, ¹  and may the nations shake at your presence!

“You are to take the ram of the consecration and cook ¹  its meat in a holy place. ² 

It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt and will cause boils to break out and fester ¹  on both people and animals in all the land of Egypt.”

So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh, Moses threw it into the air, and it caused festering boils to break out on both people and animals.

But if the bright spot stays in its place and has not spread, ¹  it is the scar of the boil, so the priest is to pronounce him clean. ² 

The Lord again asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a pot of boiling water; it is tipped toward us from the north.” ¹ 

He said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a time of cessation from work, ¹  a holy Sabbath ²  to the Lord. Whatever you want to ³  bake, bake today; ⁴  whatever you want to boil, boil today; whatever is left put aside for yourselves to be kept until morning.’”

י (Yod) The hands of tenderhearted women ¹  cooked their own children, who became their food, ²  when my people ³  were destroyed. ⁴ 

Do not eat it raw ¹  or boiled in water, but roast it over the fire with its head, its legs, and its entrails.

The Lord will afflict you in your knees and on your legs with painful, incurable boils – from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.

¹  Isaiah ordered, “Let them take a fig cake and apply it to the ulcerated sore and he will get well.”
