Remember Lot’s wife! ¹ 

and Aaron is to cast lots over the two goats, ¹  one lot for the Lord and one lot for Azazel. ² 

The first lot went to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

In this way both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.

Then ¹  they cast lots for them, and the one chosen was Matthias; ²  so he was counted with the eleven apostles. ³ 

Now Lot, who was traveling ¹  with Abram, also had ²  flocks, herds, and tents.

Lot went outside to them, shutting the door behind him.

But Lot said to them, “No, please, Lord! ¹ 

The sun had just risen ¹  over the land as Lot reached Zoar. ² 

The lot for the east gate went to Shelemiah. ¹  They then cast lots for his son Zechariah, a wise adviser, and the lot for the north gate went to him.

But Lot’s ¹  wife looked back longingly ²  and was turned into a pillar of salt.

The fourth lot belonged to the tribe of Issachar ¹  by its clans.

The fifth lot belonged to the tribe of Asher ¹  by its clans.

The sixth lot belonged to the tribe of Naphtali ¹  by its clans.

The seventh lot belonged to the tribe of Dan ¹  by its clans.

So when God destroyed ¹  the cities of the region, ²  God honored ³  Abraham’s request. He removed Lot ⁴  from the midst of the destruction when he destroyed ⁵  the cities Lot had lived in.

They also took Abram’s nephew ¹  Lot and his possessions when ²  they left, for Lot ³  was living in Sodom. ⁴ 

The sailors said to one another, ¹  “Come on, let’s cast lots ²  to find out ³  whose fault it is that this disaster has overtaken us. ⁴ ” So they cast lots, and Jonah was singled out. ⁵ 

A toss of a coin ¹  ends ²  disputes, and settles the issue ³  between strong opponents. ⁴ 

This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.
