As ¹  they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, ²  “Why are you untying that colt?”

Some people standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying that colt?”

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs ¹  it.’”

He did not speak to them without a parable. But privately he explained everything to his own disciples.

So ¹  they went and found a colt tied at a door, outside in the street, and untied it.
