The side chambers surrounding the temple were wider at each successive story; ¹  for the structure ²  surrounding the temple went up story by story all around the temple. For this reason the width of the temple increased as it went up, and one went up from the lowest story to the highest by the way of the middle story.

“So listen to the parable of the sower:

So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story is told among the Jews to this day. ¹ 

This is what she said to him: ¹  “That Hebrew slave ²  you brought to us tried to humiliate me, ³ 

The entrance to the bottom ¹  level of side rooms was on the south side of the temple; stairs went up ²  to the middle floor and then on up to the third ³  floor.

So ¹  Jesus ²  told them ³  this parable: ⁴ 

The servant told Isaac everything that had happened.

Then ¹  his disciples asked him what this parable meant. ² 

“Now the parable means ¹  this: The seed is the word of God.

The list of Joash’s ¹  sons, the many prophetic oracles pertaining to him, and the account of his building project on God’s temple are included in the record of the Scroll of the Kings. ²  His son Amaziah replaced him as king.

He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then ¹  how will you understand any parable?

He also asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable can we use to present it?

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus ¹  from one town after another, ²  he spoke to them ³  in a parable:

Then ¹  Jesus ²  told them a parable to show them they should always ³  pray and not lose heart. ⁴ 

For if Abraham was declared righteous ¹  by the works of the law, he has something to boast about – but not before God.

“Son of man, offer a riddle, ¹  and tell a parable to the house of Israel.

Then ¹  he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the other trees. ² 

A young man named Eutychus, who was sitting in the window, ¹  was sinking ²  into a deep sleep while Paul continued to speak ³  for a long time. Fast asleep, ⁴  he fell down from the third story and was picked up dead.

When his master heard his wife say, ¹  “This is the way ²  your slave treated me,” ³  he became furious. ⁴
