And the light shines on ¹  in the darkness, ²  but ³  the darkness has not mastered it. ⁴ 

From Zion, the most beautiful of all places, ¹  God comes in splendor. ² 

But the path of the righteous is like the bright morning light, ¹  growing brighter and brighter ²  until full day. ³ 

even the darkness is not too dark for you to see, ¹  and the night is as bright as ²  day; darkness and light are the same to you. ³ 

“For the sake of Zion I will not be silent; for the sake of Jerusalem ¹  I will not be quiet, until her vindication shines brightly ²  and her deliverance burns like a torch.”

The light ¹  of the righteous shines brightly, ²  but the lamp ³  of the wicked goes out. ⁴ 

For just like the lightning ¹  comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

He reveals the deep things of darkness, and brings deep shadows ¹  into the light.

O Lord, I love the temple where you live, ¹  the place where your splendor is revealed. ² 

The godly bask in the light; the morally upright experience joy. ¹ 

Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. ¹  They give ²  insight to the untrained. ³ 

May his fame endure! ¹  May his dynasty last as long as the sun remains in the sky! ²  May they use his name when they formulate their blessings! ³  May all nations consider him to be favored by God! ⁴ 

If ¹  then ²  your whole body is full of light, with no part in the dark, ³  it will be as full of light as when the light of a lamp shines on you.” ⁴ 

For just like the lightning flashes ¹  and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. ² 

Moreover, ¹  we ²  possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. ³  You do well if you pay attention ⁴  to this ⁵  as you would ⁶  to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star ⁷  rises in your hearts. ⁸ 

to the land of utter darkness, like the deepest darkness, and the deepest shadow and disorder, ¹  where even the light ²  is like darkness.” ³ 

if I looked at the sun ¹  when it was shining, and the moon advancing as a precious thing,

Acknowledge God’s power, ¹  his sovereignty over Israel, and the power he reveals in the skies! ² 

People will fear ¹  you ²  as long as the sun and moon remain in the sky, for generation after generation. ³ 

In the darkness a light ¹  shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate, and just. ²
